We’re taking off for LA this weekend. I’m going to attend a LARA workshop on dialogue with Julia Quinn on Saturday with 10 other divas and 50 other people. DH is going to take the kids to Universal Studios while I’m there. And Sunday we’ve been invited to a BBQ at a friend’s house, so I’ll be very scarce.
The good news, in participating in the Romance Divas’s writing month for May, I’ve hit 2k both days so far. I’ve got a little cushion to relax this weekend. I had planned to take them off anyway. I currently have 8399 words for 40 pages on the Flower Queen’s Daughter manuscript. I’m bouncing off the walls.

We’re going to miss the BBQ. =( The date was wrong on one of the emails. It’s today too.
DH just took the kids on the studio tour at Universal and they’re about to do the fx one now.
We’re in a lull as Ms. Quinn is showing people how to set up MSWord to auto-correct an em-dash followed by a hyphen to put close quotes the correct direction. It’s been a very interesting day.

Thanks, Sue! Yesterday was a lot of fun. The workshop was very nuts & bolts on dialogue, but the presentation was very engaging and entertaining.
It was great getting to meet several Divas too! *waves to Dana, Sabrina, Chi, Chloe, Lisa, Vivienne, Maria, and Chi*
The family had fun over at Universal too. We’re heading back today but at least the traffic shouldn’t be an issue.

I had a great time. I got back about an hour ago. We’re settling back in here and I’m trying to catch up on some stuff I couldn’t take with me or didn’t get to this morning before we left the hotel. traffic wasn’t too bad. We did see one motorcycle accident shortly after it had happened going to the other direction, so everyone heading south had to slow down and look too.
We didn’t do much last night beyond hit the pool for about an hour (that water was cold when the sun got off it!), had a nice dinner at the restaurant there at the hotel, and basically just relaxed and went to bed early. So much for living the high life…
Oh.. Avril Lavigne’s tour bus was in the parking lot when we got there, but I didn’t see her.
While you were learning and having fun, I worked my butt off. Six thousand words yesterday. My butt hurts from sitting…
Man, Winter! That’s awesome! But the big question is, are they about McKenna and her model? Oh. I see it’s something new. Well, that’s good too!
I’m slowly catching up on my deficit from this weekend. It’ll take me 4 days to catch up from one day off at this rate, but after 2k my head starts to hurt and that’s about it for the day. But, this is good since I do need to get some other things done as well.
