Radio Silence?

Looking up at a Radio Tower.
Last week was insane, this week is crazy. I’m not intentionally maintaining any sort of radio silence. I’ve been taking stuff in lately, and not doing much on the putting stuff out front. I’m still slaving away on the short story I’ve been working on and this morning the words came a bit easier than they had been. Probably because I had other things to do and that’s the way my life works. Go figure.

We’ll see what stays and what goes once I get it to the point where I think it’s finished. The hero and heroine have finally met — only 1/4th of my word count into it — that doesn’t sound good. But, things are rolling along, or they were until I had to break for real life. Bria and I agreed to push our deadline back from the 30th until the day after Labor Day. I’m still going to see if I can get as much possible done in 5 days. We’ll see what happens.

Bria posted an awesome blog today about one of her live-saving books. I still have Jacob Have I Loved on my shelf, but I can never seem to bring myself to reread it. It was good and Bria nails it when she says the author, Katherine Patterson, UNDERSTANDS. Yes, but I don’t particularly like remembering those days, feelings or such. Go read Bria’s post if you haven’t already and show her some comment love too.

Something I saw that had my jaw flapping in shock and horror this morning was on Lillian Feisty’s blog. Nooo… MTV shouldn’t be allowed to ruin the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Nooooo…. you can sign the petition too. Does MTV even play videos any more? I’m not even sure I like VH-1 any more either. Maybe I’m just getting old and un-hip.

Anyway, Stop the Remake, Save the Lips!

  1. Gah. I can’t stand MTV or VH1. We watch Fuse if we watch anything. I hate rap so usually we don’t watch any TV involving videos.

I’m glad you’re making progress on the story! Yay! I decided to steal the wussy name of Miles for something I’m cooking up. If it all works out, in 20K words or so, I’ll sub it to Liquid Silver. Oh, and McKenna? I figured out why she stalled, so I will be getting back to her when Miles stops listening to Jen Leeland’s characters and thus stops talking to me in the shower. 😉

  2. *sigh* to me, Mckenna is a guy’s name. Then again, Keegan is a girl’s name, and I didn’t know it until recently, and Tris, and I try not to think about it.

I watch Three Sheets (the drunk guy show on Mojo, it’s hilariously funny) and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives–that’s about the extent of my tv. My kids use every available monitor, tv included, for games.

I have books I love too, but can’t re-read. Sometimes, you can’t go home.

  3. Thanks Kaige – I’ve been suprised and blessed by all the people sharing their life-saving book stories 🙂

I have to admit, my first Rocky Horror experience was in the UK, so sorry Tim Curry, but it’s Anthony Head all the way for me 😉
