I’ve played around with the idea of writing romance novels for a while. In college, I decided I could do better than the ones I’d devoured that summer. I think I got about 8k words into the story and then gave up because I couldn’t decide what would happen next. Last year or so, I decided to give it another stab. I made it about 5400 words that time. I did go and see about coming up with an outline that time, but it just wasn’t working for me.
This summer, I picked up Dorothea Brande’s book, Becoming A Writer, and something clicked. I’ve run through most of the books on writing on DHs bookshelf and have even added LaMott’s Bird By Bird to it.
Recently, I joined the forums over at ROMANCE DIVAS. What an awesome bunch of people! Inspiring, motivating and best of all, welcoming. I really felt as if I’d come home after posting my intro and stopping into the chat room there.
Anyway, that’s all for now! Just trying to get established and get into a daily routine!
