Thursday Thirteen: Recipes

13 of My Standard Recipes

I like to cook, hate to clean. If there’s something besides books that I collect, it would have to be recipes. I love reading recipes and I love knowing some history behind the recipe as well.

Back in 2000, I found a wonderful site. At allrecipes.com you can collect recipes in a virtual recipe box, read and write reviews and rate recipes. You can now also do things like compile your collected recipes into a cookbook that they will print up for you. It’s been interesting to watch this site grow over the years and watch how features have been added.

Many of the recipes I’ve collected from this site have turned into family favorites. My MIL always requests the P.R. Meat Patties when she comes to visit. My mom and her best friend always request the Lasagna. The Berry Slush and the Potato Rounds are popular party fare. The Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups freeze really well.

1. Amy’s Garlic Egg Chicken
2. Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole
3. Berry Lemonade Slush
4. Best Easy Chicken Croquettes
5. Best Unsteamed Shrimp
6. Broccoli Cheese Soup
7. Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds
8. Cheese Cake Cups
9. Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups
10. Honey Garlic Ribs
11. Puerto Rican Meat Patties
12. Puerto Rican Pork Roast
13. White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

  1. Oh, yummy! I’m always looking for new recipes, and these sound awesome. I’ll definitely be trying the chicken lasagna soon! Oh, and I’m with you on the cleaning, hate that part!!

    Happy TT!

  2. I love to cook and hate to clean also!!! Trained the hubs well though.

I probably should have added Knight Rider, but then I would have had to add A-Team. And that was too many, tee hee

  3. boy–I hate to cook. My daughter is just starting up. They’re cute when they’re that young. She likes recipezaar

  4. I have to be in the mood to cook. I’m capable but there are other things I’d rather do. It sounds like a great site. I’ll have to check it out.

  5. I think we’re twins separated at birth. I LOVE to cook, hate to clean. The only two creative things I do well are write and cook. Thanks for some great new recipes to try. (Today I’m attempting a buffalo chicken dip for a get-together tonight. I’ll let you know how it turns out!)

  6. Do you have a beef brisket recipe to share? I’m going to check the site, but I’d love to have one that you have already endorsed.

  7. Cheesecake Cups, mmm I always loved those as a kid. I copied this recipe, thanks, I am excited for the next invite I get. I plan on bringing these.
    Maribeth:)

  8. Why, oh why did I have to go and read this? Now I’m hungrier than I thought I was.

Or is that a psychological effect? Hmmm…

Screw it, I’m gonna eat a cookie.

    Yum…

    Great TT!

  9. Great idea for a TT list! I love to see what other people like to cook, because I’m not very good at menu management. This site sounds like a lifesaver! Thanks!

  10. I love Broccoli and cheese soup. it’s sooooooooo good.
And I’m like you, I love to cook and hate the cleanup. That’s why hubby now does the ‘dirty work’. Afterall, he has to contribute to the chores too. LOL

  11. Ooooh, some of these look really nice, and I’m a vegetarian! I’m defiantly going to try the Berry Lemonade Slush and the Cheese Cake Cups when summer gets here.
