Six weeks in… doesn’t seem like it’s been that many already! I’m much happier with some of these than others, but mood has a lot to do with what I find the time and interest for taking pictures on a particular day. Friday and Saturday were kind of hectic days and I was lazy and just relied on my iPhone and predictably, those are the ones I’m least happy with.

It’s supposed to be rather rainy here this week, so we’ll see what happens. I keep meaning to catch the egrets that have been flocking to the nearby golf course and I even stopped on Friday but didn’t have my camera and I’d forgotten my phone as well on that trip to school. Definitely feeling the urge to do something different. I like the way the flowers come out, but I’m getting bored with them. I should start looking at the list of places I made last fall that I wanted to visit with my camera. Now, just to find the time to do everything. =)

Five weeks into the new year and this project. This week I found I kept putting off taking photos until it was too late and I didn’t have time/energy to make it come out like I wanted. Note to self, that doesn’t work as well. I also thought of a few different types of photographs I’d like to play with in the future that center on lighting like the black and white lamp below. Can I just saw how pleasantly surprised I was by how that one came out?

I don’t usually do a lot of post-processing on my photos, but the clouds didn’t pop like I wanted and the mandolin needed something, anything to see if I could salvage it at that hour. I also figured out the time on my camera was off by an hour, so that’s fixed. I have also been playing with more manual settings, so finding the nice shot that works for me is getting harder. I have to take a few more in order to make sure I get it too.
