Hi, my name is Kristen Koster and I’m a romance author who loves the Regency Era. Cravats, impeccable manners, polished leather boots? SOLD!
I’ve been reading romance and mostly historical romance for about 30 years now. Both my husband and I bibliophiles with over 350 linear feet of books and a shortage of walls to put bookcases on. As a stay-at-home mom with two teens, I’ve had a lot of free time to read while sitting around waiting to pick them up.
I don’t have any of my writing published yet, but I’m working to change that! I started writing seriously again in the fall of 2007 and am currently working on querying agents and submitting to editors. In the meantime, I’ve been collecting a lot of research and answering questions about the sub-genre which led to my Regency Primer Series.
Now, I’m not an extrovert, but I play one on-line. If you’re wondering who “Kaige” is, well, that’s me… in college my initials were K.J. and a friend slurred them to sound like “cage”. Another friend just assumed it was spelled more like Paige and that was my nickname and online persona for years.
I’ve embraced online networking through Facebook, twitter and a couple of real world groups like RWA on the national and local level here in San Diego and I also joined the fabulously knowledgeable Beau Monde online chapter which specializes in Regency Romance.
My background is in business, economics and game design, which just might explain my theoretical tendencies. Puzzles were made to be solved and plots seem like they’re just huge puzzles waiting to be conquered. Must. Solve. Puzzle.
My grandfather was a professional photographer and the shutterbug runs in the family. I’m loving the flexibility of my digital SLR camera! A couple friends and I did a 366 Photo Challenge for 2012. (Flickr set and I did better than I’d expected with sticking to it. This year, I’m working on a 52 Week project. Way less pressure!
Feel free to connect with me using any of the methods below!
